今や一流プロデューサーとして世界中から注目されているカリフォルニアのDJ/DANCER/PRODUCERであるCoflo。そんな彼が3年の月日をかけて制作したキャリア初となるAFROBEAT作品となるJambalaをリリース。
サンフランシスコのテナー/バリトンサックス奏者であるChris Hoogが奏でるリズミカルなホーンセクションに、ナイジェリア全土で行われたミュージカル”Fela!”でFeaturingされたAdeniji Heavywindによる力強いヴォーカル、そしてCoflo自身の演奏によるパーカッションやキーボードが、Fela Kutiの美学に則った素晴らしいAFROBEAT楽曲を生み出した。
今年3月の来日時に新宿Bridgeで披露しフロアを熱狂させたOriginal Mixの他、夜のフロアに映えるBackside Mixも収録されている。

The track features a vibrant horn section played by San Francisco-based tenor and baritone saxophonist Chris Hoog, along with the powerful vocals of Adeniji Heavywind, who has been featured in the musical “Fela!” across Nigeria. With Coflo’s own performance on percussion and keyboards, the song embodies the true aesthetic of Fela Kuti, resulting in a phenomenal afrobeat tune.
In addition to the fiery “Original Mix” which had the floor at Shinjuku Bridge in Tokyo electrified during his visit this past March, the release also includes the “Backside Mix” perfect for a late-night vibe.
