今やNYCのナイトライフに欠かせない存在として君臨しているパーティーSoul In The Hornが、誕生から10年という節目を記念して待望のオフィシャル・コンピレーション・アルバム”Soul In The Horn: The 10 Year Anniversary Edition“をリリース。
共同創設者のDJ Natasha DiggsとDProsperがキュレーションしたこの3枚組LPは、単なるコンピレーションではなく、「ホーン(金管楽器)が牽引するダンス・ミュージック・カルチャーの過去・現在・未来」を称える、まさに一つの歴史書のような仕上がりとなっている。
3枚の盤をAct 1,2,3と振り分け、それぞれに明確なテーマを持たせている。Act 1では、ムーブメントの基盤に敬意を表し、GOSPEL、SOUL、R&B、そしてクラシックなクラブビート楽曲を集約。Act 2は、国際的なアーティストとリズムが結びつき、ダンスフロア志向のトラックを多く収録。Act 3は、KarizmaやCofloなど、現在活躍するレジェンドたちによって再解釈された、時間を超えた名曲達が収録されている。
Vinylは全27曲、そのうちAct 1に該当する11曲はデジタルでもリリースされている。また、SITHからのオフィシャルリリースとなったMadison McFerrin – Ain’t It Nice (Merlin Bobb & Masaki Morii Remix)も、デジタルアルバム限定で収録されている。
このアルバムは、Soul In The Hornに関わった数多のアーティストたちの作品が収録されており、単なる音楽を超えた、まさにコミュニティのエネルギーが吹き込まれた1枚である。
The party that has become an indispensable presence in the NYC nightlife scene, Soul In The Horn (SITH), has released its long-awaited official compilation album, Soul In The Horn: The 10 Year Anniversary Edition, to celebrate its decade milestone.
Curated by co-founders DJ Natasha Diggs and DProsper, this 3-LP set is more than just a compilation—it’s a historical document that celebrates the Past, Present, and Future of horn-infused dance music culture.
The three vinyl records are designated as Act 1, 2, and 3, each with a clear thematic focus. Act 1 pays homage to the movement’s foundation, bringing together tracks rooted in Gospel, Soul, R&B, and classic club beats. Act 2 connects international artists and rhythms, featuring a greater number of dancefloor-oriented tracks. Act 3 compiles timeless classics that have been reinterpreted by currently active legends such as Karizma and Coflo.
The vinyl edition contains a total of 27 tracks, 11 of which belong to Act 1 and are also available digitally. Furthermore, the track Madison McFerrin – Ain’t It Nice (Merlin Bobb & Masaki Morii Remix), an official SITH release, is included exclusively on the digital album.
This album features works from a multitude of artists who have been involved with Soul In The Horn, making it a record infused with the energy of the community that extends far beyond just the music.
