そして”In This Together“は、約15分に及ぶストーリーを展開する”Cosmic Arts Story for Bakki Sora“。
This remix EP features three tracks taken from Italian producer Patrick Gibin‘s 2024 acclaimed debut album, Strength In Numbers, released on his own Mother Tongue Records, re-imagined by Joe Claussell. Claussell has completely translated the essence of the originals into his signature cosmic and spiritual sound, imparting new depths to each track.
The opener, “Let It Go” preserves the Kaidi Tatham essence of the original, while the meticulously layered percussion provides a more floor-friendly feel. The magnificent synth-work builds a sense of euphoria, making it a truly uplifting piece.
“Joint Purpose” is presented in two contrasting versions. The “Teenage Music Version” fuses drum-machine-driven house with cosmic synth-funk. Meanwhile, the “Thee Artistic Vintage Lower East Side NYC Squatters Dub” take, as its name suggests, delivers a vintage, warehouse-ready low-end experience. Both versions offer an exceptional sense of immersion.
The EP closes with “In This Together” featuring the extended “Cosmic Arts Story for Bakki Sora” which unfolds over a nearly 15-minute narrative. Its composition, marked by constantly shifting tempos and moods, is highly reminiscent of ’70s fusion music. The re-constructed middle part, the “Voices of Innocence Version” offers a more ethereal and graceful take, highlighting the bass, drums, and chorus work.
This EP is a masterpiece that merges Patrick Gibin’s musical knowledge with Joe Claussell’s profound spiritual sensibilities.
