2023年のデビューから卓越したEDITワークで好評を得てきた、UKを拠点に活動するデュオSoulmekanikz。そしてAtjazz Record CompanyやBedfunk、Quantize Recordingsなど名立たるレーベルでその美声を披露してきたシンガーHannah Khemoh。この両者がタッグを組み、M2SOUL Musicから初のリリースタイトルとなる “The Rain” を発表。
ボーカルに寄り添うようなベースラインとパーカッション、キーボードのメロディーがまさにSOULFUL HOUSEといった曲調で、思わず身体が揺れてしまうMain Mix。よりダンスフロアにフォーカスを当て、ダンサー好みの跳ねるベースとループし続ける細かいキーボードが、どことなく往年の名曲Ben Westbeech “So Good Today” を彷彿とさせるDeepah Mix。そして、Astral Artsレーベルの主宰にして、OsunladeやCoflo、Fred EverythingなどDEEP HOUSEシーンのレジェンド達から圧倒的な信頼を獲得し続けているスコットランドのFrederickによる美麗でDEEPなRemixも収録。
M2SOUL Musicのカラーにあった音色でありながら、それぞれ異なる聴き方が出来る、素晴らしい3曲入りEP。
UK-based duo Soulmekanikz, who have been garnering high praise for their exceptional edit work since their debut in 2023, team up with vocalist Hannah Khemoh, renowned for lending her stunning voice to prestigious labels like Atjazz Record Company, Bedfunk, and Quantize Recordings. Together, they deliver “The Rain”—their very first release on M2SOUL Music.
The Main Mix embodies pure SOULFUL HOUSE, featuring a bassline that perfectly complements the vocals, alongside driving percussion and keyboard melodies that will naturally get your body moving. The Deepah Mix shifts the focus firmly onto the dancefloor, with a bouncy, dancer-friendly bassline and tight, looping keys reminiscent of Ben Westbeech’s timeless classic “So Good Today.” Rounding out the release is a beautiful, deep remix by Scottish producer Frederick—head of the Astral Arts label, who continues to hold the deep trust of DEEP HOUSE legends like Osunlade, Coflo, and Fred Everything.
While aligning seamlessly with M2SOUL Music’s signature sound, each of the three tracks offers a distinct listening experience, making for a truly outstanding 3-track EP.
