ハイチ生まれNYC育ちのストリートダンサーであり、HOUSEダンスシーンにおいて「Queen of House」と呼ばれた、最も影響力の大きい女性ダンサーの一人であり、パイオニア的な存在であったMarjory Smarth。2015年2月に若くして乳がんで亡くなったが、彼女の残した数々の功績や「Live True, Dance Free」という哲学は、今も世界中のダンサーに影響を与え続けている。
そんな彼女の没後10年目でもある2025年に、Marjoryのレガシーを伝え、そして祝うパーティーが東京で催される。
Marjory Smarth was one of the most influential female dancers and a pioneer in the House Dance scene, known as the “Queen of House”. Born in Haiti and raised in NYC, she began her journey as a street dancer. Though she passed away prematurely from breast cancer in February 2015, her numerous achievements and philosophy of “Live True, Dance Free” continue to inspire dancers around the world today. In 2025, marking the 10th anniversary of her passing, a party to celebrate and carry on Marjory’s legacy will be held in Tokyo.
